I want to take a moment to urge y'all to vote in favor of the North
Carolina bond issue for the state university and community college
systems tomorrow. The bonds will raise $3.1 billion for higher
education facilities across the state. This money is desparately needed
for improvement and addition of new facilites at all levels of the
system, but particularly in the community colleges. We've got one of
the best and most affordable higher education systems in the country
here, but years of budget cutting and restrictions have taken their toll
on buildings, classrooms and laboratories. And enrollment is expected
to increase tremendously in the next ten years.

More particularly, these bonds are investments for the future of the
Information Technology industry in North Carolina. IT depends upon an
educated workforce, most of which really must come from within the
state. So please vote a self-interested and community-interested YES
for the higher education bonds.

The ballot tomorrow is a very long one and the bond questions come at
the bottom, so do remember to take time to read the whole thing to the
end and vote for the school bonds. Thanks!
