Advertising is a form of indoctrinization. Works great. We "used" that auto-memory from advertising indoctrinization to promote DH's landscaping business. When we went to the SBA about funding, the guy rolled his eyes. When he came back with some forms, he was, hmmmm, shall we say exhibiting the results of indoctrinization. <g>
DH's landscaping business was "Frank's For the Memories" Everyone hum along <g>
So, on the card I used a film strip and "for a picture perfect yard and garden." No one who every saw one of his cards forgot and we got calls from people who had seen the card months and a couple who had seen it years before!

maybe most, don't mean it except when it suits them." Dallas

As a music teacher, who has been involved with song-writing, research in music and learning, and just generally in a classroom, of course it is indoctrination. That is just the way songs, and music with words, works.
Here is an example. I will simply write four words that are lyrics of a short song from 30 or more years ago. All of you will know it. This would be more effective if I could sing it, but it should work this way, as well.
If, after seeing these four words, you can finish the tune, with the words, and understand to what the words refer...? Well, you have been indoctrinated.
Ready? scroll down...
Plop, Plop. Fizz, Fizz...
Did you remember the rest?

Here's the latest on the NJ schoolkids singing Obama's praises...
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/19/records-request-filed-connection-obama-song/?test=latestnews
Foxnews.com has filed an open-records request to view notices that a New
ersey school district says were sent to parents alerting them to an
ssembly performance earlier this year in which second-graders sang the
raises of President Obama.
The request, filed Monday with Mary Ann Bell, the Open Public Records
ct officer for the Burlington Township School District, seeks to obtain
opies of notices officials say were provided to parents of students at
he B. Bernice Young Elementary School prior to the assembly in February.
The song was performed again on March 23 -- and videotaped in violation
f school policy -- when author Charisse Carney-Nunes visited the school
n recognition of Women's History Month.
The video, which was posted on YouTube, has angered some parents who say
heir children should not have been videotaped without permission.
thers have lambasted the school administrators for the video's message,
hich they say amounts to indoctrination.
Liz Scott, a spokeswoman for the school district, told Foxnews.com last
eek that the district would be unable to produce copies of the notices
ent to parents before the performances.
In a statement released on Oct. 12, Superintendent Christopher Manno
aid lyrics to the song were sent home to parents ahead of the
erformance, which was videotaped "without knowledge or permission" of
taff members. He also dismissed allegations that the performance was an
indoctrination," saying there was nothing "systematic" about the
lassroom activity.
"After an investigation of this event, we found that no form of
ndoctrination took place, and there was no intent for indoctrination,"
he statement read. "There was no intention to make any political
tatement or promote a political agenda at all."
But Jim Pronchick, whose 8-year-old son Jimmy can be seen on the video,
aid school officials tried to push their political views on the
tudents, and he disputed the district's claims regarding the notices.
"We never got the lyrics," he told Foxnews.com. "Absolutely not."
