Absolutely agree, I always learn something when I hear opposing views, and on
more than a number of occassions have changed my mind after listening to
healthy debate that made me realize I needed to correct a premise of my own.

<<<... are ALL vital to our freedom. In fact, if the 2nd amendment was
interpreted as liberally as the 1st, we would all be required to own weapons,
have them in every room in our house, and cars, and they would all be fully
automatic machine guns and howitzers.>>>

I met Austrian citizen long ago.  He informed me that all men are required to
go thru military training and are required to keep their military weapon on
discharge.

I especially like hearing from people from other countries.  How things work
or don't work in their countries, and their perceptions in general about the
American people,,,,,,,,, and the American government.  Two completely
separate things.
<<<Most people are totally in favor of free speech... As long as that speech
fits their worldview.?? >>>

I certainly would not expect him to turn things around in a year, but
when there is a transfer of power between presidents, the outgoing prez
will make some last minute changes and the incoming prez with send out a
slew of executive orders. Change can happen quite fast. With Obama's
busy agenda and massive promises of change. I would simply like to know
what positive change we have seen so far. I don't think I'm being
unreasonable as we are coming up on the 200 day mark. In my real life
world, all I hear is negative stuff, so I ask this list for positives
because so many here see his Presidency as positive. I'm just looking
for balance.

Sleep well tonight, for somewhere in the ocean's depths, MY son is
protecting your freedom on the USS Key West, currently deployed
somewhere in the Pacific and/or Indian Ocean. Go Navy!
