They'll just keep changing how they measure unemployment so it never gets that high. That means we'll never have a depression, right? I still like the line: "A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours." Lots and lots of us jobless up here in the frozen north that aren't even included in the official numbers.

If it's over 20 percent, it's a depression, and they can call it
whatever they want.

again. Just like how you count unemployment, the rules on when it is a
depression have changed! It is only 15 months since it was officially
declared a recession. It was changed to over 18 months. We got too close
to that, so they've changed it to over two years.
