Hi Sage,

I do have that book and I love it. Forgot all about it though. I'll have to
pull it out. I've been treating the abscess with an herbal wash made with
goldenseal leaves and applying neem oil mixed with triple antibiotic to it.
(raw honey would be great, too, but I am out). That has helped a lot, but I'm
concerned that if the tooth has an issue still present when the abscess
finishes, that we'll still be dealing with whatever is really wrong. Right
now it's like putting out fires around here - no time to do any long term
anything, just trying to get by. Right now it's the horse, but I need a
fence, car repairs, house needs to be painted, i need to move in the new
house, etc. and I just don't have time to do quality work at anything :(
plus, there's another business trip coming up in 2 weeks and then i'll be
playing catch-up again at home and work for another month after.

With the herbals, it needs more attention than I have time to give,
unfortunately. otherwise, that is my preferred route to deal with anything
except emergencies. My daughter went to our vet armed with pictures and swabs
for cultures, and came home with antibiotics for him to get him through the
infection. then we'll see what needs to be done about the tooth, if anything.
That was less expensive than having to bring in the whole horse, at least.
