Rob, I took this very class from the Virginia Extension Service (in Big Stone
Gap) nearly twenty years ago. It was very good, each participant walked away
with ten grafted seedlings, and two of those are now mature apple trees.
Most apple trees are grafted onto quince stock. It is readily available and
if you want to propogate your own, just make 1' cuttings and put them in damp
soil in the spring.
