A few observations today on the creek...
First, from the house, it did not appear to be running this morning. If you saw the pictures I took yesterday and the day before, it is hard to imagine that the water was 95% gone this morning. If you imagine a segmented line with points A B C D and E, where point A is upstream and E is the furthest downstream, the creek was trickling/flowing from A to B and from C to D, but not from B to C or D to E. Those segments were bone dry. I'm not sure-maybe there are some crevices/springs within the creek bed- I looked but couldn't find anything, but it sure seems so. Perhaps the level of the water was the same, still flowing along, but partially hidden under the ground, still following the path of the creek bed? It is a mystery that I hope to solve with future digging/observation. At any rate, tonight there was zero flow at dark. :( It is supposed to rain over the weekend, so I am hopeful that since the ground is saturated, I will see the magic again soon. I hope I don't have to wait another 4 years.

One of my neighbors is getting bees, which is really great for me! I knew she had a penchant for beekeeping, but wasn't sure if she would go through with it. It turns out, she is dedicated to it and that suits me fine. Since I am very allergic, I can't keep bees, but I long for a source of local honey. Right now, the honey I buy is from a neighboring county, which is kind of close, if you consider 50 miles away close. Sarah doesn't have chickens, so I can swap eggs for honey! She lives far enough away that I don't have to worry about being stung, I don't think.
