I love figs, too, and fig preserves. I had an old big fig tree, but every
year the blasted birds would clean the figs from the tree before I could
harvest. I even used bird netting to no avail. The birds would actually
swarm. I had to have the fig tree removed last year, for another reason; but
I miss getting the few figs the birds would leave me..................
p.s. I'm still a little confused; without heat; how is the greenhouse much
different than the outside? Is it just the structure keeping off the
different precipitation?

I'm slowly filling the north side of the greenhouse with figs. I love figs,
but they won't grow outside here. They love it in the greenhouse.
