We collectively suffer from a modern myth. 'Suffer' I say because that is
what is resulting. The myth is that out there somewhere there is someone
who
can rescue us from any and all ills if only we influence them or vote them
into
office.

Many believed that the government (or banks, or whomever) would not "allow"
housing values to drop since the consumer spending from the withdrawal of the
fake equity was what was supporting the economy.

Many believe that the "disabled" and geezers will continue to receive money
from the government no matter what just because they would vote the bastards
out of office if they didn't.

The belief was that we can't let BofA, GM, and the host of others fail.
There's always that nearly supernatural power that will bail them out and
make
everything OK.

And so it is with this plant. So the people sit in. That doesn't mean that
money suddenly appears out of the cosmos to save them. Sometimes you trust
the wrong people or the wrong promises. Who on this list has not at some
time
believed the promises of business partners, employers, spouses, band members
(the worst for breaking promises), and been disappointed. It happens. Now
of
days it will be happening a lot.
