The trouble with wind and solar is that they are not continuous. There are
times of calm and at best maximum sunshine can be harvested for maybe 10
hours average. This means that you have to have a 100% backup or some huge
storage, both of which significantly add to the cost. Currently the grid
provides for both those situations at a reasonable cost.
Yes, all those technologies will be needed and used but the cost will be
high, much higher than you are paying now. That you can take to the bank.
