The whole racism thing has upset me.  I don't need this kind of stress.
I came here for good conversations and learning, not for all this
conflict. So like you, this weekend I have been concentrating on the
homestead.

I don't know about up in VA, but it doesn't take much to convince anyone
here that we are in deep doodoo.   About 75% or more of all gas stations
in the area are closed-out of gas.  I suppose gasoline operates on a
justintime supply like the rest of consumer goods.  People are freaking.
My daughter is riding her bike to work.  She is fortunate that she
works within biking distance.  My guess is that if supply doesn't start
soon, like yesterday, store shelves will empty because the trucks can't run..
I don't have retirement.  No life insurance either.  DH has a small
401k, that wouldn't pay the mortgage for a year.  We have no savings,
and live from paycheck to paycheck.  DH is one of those people who works
in a crappy job for the insurance and mortgage just so that I can take
my arthritis meds and walk around.

Me, too.  I just wish I still had the sheep and goats.  I've still got
half a porker in the freezer, but it is time to be raising a few more
and we can't afford it.

******Pick a topic, I don't have anything to teach you, but I don't mind
engaging in conversation, about what you hunt, what you fish, or just about
anything that might interest you or the list.  I'm probably going to bed a
little later than usual tonight.  My wife is watching a movie.......

******Around here, very few people seem to be worried.  When the market
recovered after Wednesday, I think most thought, it was just a little extra
excitement.  If tthey are worried, they are not talking.  I am very worried.
