Lynn, I just put Tioga & RFID in yahoo search and copy/pasted . I was just
trying to make the point that soon it will be everywhere; I didn't read the
article. The next rollout of RFID , they will be in all cellphones. If you
have cellphone reception, there will be, eventually, rfid readers. Even in
small communities.
It does sound like you live in a nice place though. Too bad you get lots of
snow, or else I might check out PA.....bobf

Bob; if you read the article you cited (The World Dairy Diary), the
article about 'Tioga County dairy producer' (Erik Coolidge) is about a
task force on milk quality, and has NOTHING to do with the part about
RFID. I've been on a tour of Erik Coolidge's farm, and at that time he
didn't use RFID chips. I actually have nothing against farmers
voluntarily using RFID chips to monitor animals, but I don't think they
are widely used here. I am absolutely against the NAIS. RFID chips are
not really needed here, where most dairy farms are small enough that the
farmers know the cows by name.
