Dear Dan,

I told Roy people had come out of the wood work to talk about bio- diesel and that you'd given me a great primer. In our house I deal with all things with fur. Roy deals with all things with batteries. It's a pretty simple labour division but it works for us. He's very interested but can't chime in because I uh, neglected to send a computer with him.

Don't worry for my new baby, I have Roy the Professor to help keep me straight, along with good people like you. I wouldn't ever try to do something to this truck but kiss it and tell it regularly what a good truck it is.

My feeling was I could probably get unused vegetable oil very easily in big barrels via my Dad's restaurant supply contacts, and not so much actually going to a restaurant. The truth is I got the diesel for long term reliability as much as the option of switching it over. And in the immediate future, I think most of our time is going to be spent on gathering as many nuts for the winter as we can. (Alternative power, especially to water, etc, some growing space, insulation and some more insulation, getting the animals settled.)

I just haven't had time to read the rest of these, I'm aiming to fill up my new trailer with boxes and drive to NY. I miss Roy and even if he's not ready for the sheep, I have almost stuffed this thing full with other things.

I had a great time hooking everything up for the first time yesterday. I had to make my 6 yo stand on the tongue as a target. ; D The lights all work, the emergency brake pull is there, tow chains are good, all I think I want to do is replace a few cotter pins, which I'll do today. I took the pair, truck and trailer, on their maiden voyage to my mother's farm down the road and loaded it up with yes, you guessed it, more stuff. Rain barrels, stall matts, feed bins, hay enough to transfer them over to new stuff smoothly, wheel barrows, and hey, a queen size feather bed my mother picked up somewhere for $50, brand new.

One thing I love about this truck....I can do the speed limit and poke along safely and no one argues with me. In my wagon when I do the speed limit I usually have people in the front seat with me via the mirror. They are so close I could talk to them. Not in this. I feel like grunting like Tim Allen. Uhhhhhhhhhuhhhhhhhhhhhh.

: D

Off to cram a few more things in the trailer.

You should be aware that WVO (Waste Vegetable Oil) is not the same as
Biodiesel. WVO is what is in the fryer tank at the local French fry place.
It could be Canola, palm, safflower, Peanut or any number of different plant
extract oils. WVO is then the feed stock for Biodiesel.
