fortex pole beans but with '05 seed. Some popped up and some have not. I
planted thickly anticipating this problem but thought most would germinate.

We haven't had much rain in the last week so I've watered twice. If it
doesn't rain later will water again and hope more will germinate. If not,
then since you've said it's not too late I'll buy a pack of fresh seed when
I'm in town tomorrow and try again. We have the space. We also have a big
2-3 acre field on our front 'yard' (beyond the lawn beauty strip) that I've
been eyeing, but husband doesn't know it.

I have an Aunt (in IN) that grows soybeans every year and brings a soybean
salad to an annual Memorial day family gathering. Have always wanted to grow
soybeans.

Started fall squashes (Uncle David's dessert, spaghetti, Long Island cheese
and acorn), and pumpkins (Long Pie and Young's Beauty) in peat pots.
Promised youngest son we'd grow some large pumpkins, but discovered we don't
have large seed on hand, so will pick up a pack of Big-A$$ pumpkin seeds in
addition to more beans just in case.
