No it isn't. There's no (sales) tax on agricultural animal feed. That is,
you pay sales tax on dog and cat food at the mart, but not in the feed store
if
you state that it is for a farm animal. Sweet feed, bulk corn, crimped oats,
hay, etc. that are only sold as animal feed simply ring up with no sales tax
no matter where you buy them.
Just across the line in Virginia you have to file with the department of
revenue that you are conducting a farm and claim exemption from sales tax on
feed,
but it has nothing to do with NAIS. </HTML>
