To change the subject--- You mentioned cutting tall grass with a scythe. I
bought my husband a
grain cradle and he'd like to try using it on grain, probably the rye that
we are planning to sow this fall, mostly for basket material so we need the
stalks to be as long as possible--unlike just harvesting the grain. He grew
up
on an Amish farm in LanCo so is familiar with using a scythe and a sickle,
but
he heard that there's a "trick" to using the grain cradle...Anyone ever used
one???
