I will do my best to translate,

Limewire is just an application. It's the files that you download that may be an issue. It's trivial to add virii and spyware to any applications that you install. If you are downloading music or videos, those are safer, being that the exploits that use these type of files are fewer. But, the big problem is the MPAA and RIAA both use schemes that try to track downloaders and the RIAA is fond of suing people that are guilty or not.

For a practical manner if you keep your virus checker and anti- spyware constantly up to date, you should be okay. I think Limewire has somewhere around 20 million users, so perhaps there is slight safety in numbers. But I think that all new viruses start there.

Additionally, check out Bittorrent, which is used more by techies and less kids, but because the various bits of a file are downloaded from different servers, there is less malware.

All of these types of services open your system to all kinds of problems. You may use a system like this for years with no problem, or be bit on your first try...it's a crap shoot. Before you play make good backups of all your can't lose items.
