I guess I can talk about it now.. :)
I never really got to see the house, as you know..not upclose anyway. I
was stuck in the clubhouse doing various things. The highlight of my
day was meeting Ed, who had dropped by. He was still nursing his hand,
and while I saw it (the injury was 2 months prior), it looked pretty
good at the time and I had no clue as to what really happened or how bad
it had been until I watched it on TV. He was a really, super nice guy
with eyes you can get lost in.. :)
It was good to be back over in that area, too. I looked at a lot of
land near there years ago because I had fallen in love with that little
part of the world when I was a student at Reinhardt, the college that
gave the daughter the scholarship. Russell and I used to sail on Lake
Arrowhead, and like I mentioned before, I partied there. Lots of
accidents happen out there, basically due to the roads and people
driving under the influence. One of my good friends from college, Matt,
was killed about 300 feet from where Ransom was killed.
At any rate, glad you enjoyed the show. I wish I had had more clout and
had been able to help more..would have loved to be there for the reveal,
but I'm just a noboby. I guess the RC alum that made it to TV gave more
money to the college than I have. :) Oh well..

Bev, thank you for telling us about this story. Most inspirational.

For those who didn't see the show, the star was the son, Ransom, who was killed in a car wreck near the house when he was sixteen. At an age we consider not yet mature, he had made the decision to be an organ donor. His heart, kidneys, and pancreas live on in others.
