Here's an authoritative source---Forest Products Lab in Madison, Wis. on
various woods and how they accept bending with steam---you can wrap them
into a pretzel by dipping in liquid ammonia, but are not likely to in
your home workshop. Anyway, the principal thing to remember is staying
within the plastic range of wood when bending.
