Tom told us that he is still selling milk to a dairy plant, like most
dairies around here do. He only markets about 30 percent of his milk
through the store. However, his clientelle is growing and I suspect the
amount he ships out to the dairy plant is less than it was.

They also market the home industry products of some other people, including
a neighbor of mine who is an artist. One thing Tom was selling of hers was
emu eggs which she had made little shadowboxes of. She cut the egg and made
doors on it, painting the whole thing in some motif. Like one revealed a
"happy cow" standing in front of a barn and silo. Others were scenes from
nature or fantasy.

We stop by about once a week to get some milk and cheese and honey -- he
sells honey from hives set on his place for several weeks in the summer.
Frequently, there are pre-schoolers and moms there looking at the cows and
being taken on a ride behind a tractor. He sells pre-arranged farm tours
and opens up the farm once a year for the public at large.
