On the topic of sample plant shipments, I received several this year - thanks to all of those who send them out.
I do have a request, though. I was out of the country for two weeks this spring during which, several boxes of plants arrived. Unfortunately, those little plantlets sat for weeks in their boxes, unopened in my absence. When I returned, some were fine but others were merely shriveled ghosts.
This is not the first time this has happened.
I would find it extremely helpful to receive some kind of advance shipping notification - a letter or email sent out a few weeks ahead of time. That would give me the chance to make arrangements for someone to get the box and take care of the plants for me until I return.
I love the opportunity to try new plants - but it doesn't help anyone if they die before I get to see how they do in my garden....
