I have removed lots of ivy, but it takes time and
chemicals. Mow it down and wait for the new soft new
green growth to emerge, then treat it with defoilant.
Once it begins to die back the roots will disslove and
it is less diffucult to pull out. It will keep coming
back for a while. Ivy is so shallowly rooted that you
may only have to do this a couple of times during one
growing season to get good results.
Good luck-
Emily
