Try Cedo-flora. It's my favorite insecticide for scale and mealybug and safe for every orchid I've tried it on (lots). It's kerosene based and really does the trick. You should be able to find it at good plant stores on on the web.

Has anyone grown Josee, the newish lilac that is supposed to bloom several times a season? If so, does it? And, is the fragrance really there?

When my orchids are indoors under lights for the winter months, scale invades. I've been using rubbing alcohol to kill the scale and to remove its sticky exudes. What else can I do?
