What are you using to control or defeat Japanese beetles in your garden? I'm in the Upper Midwest, and the beetles have invaded with a vengeance in the last 4-5 years. They love roses. Several of the 2006 AARS winners are yellow, and I'm sure the test plants will be devoured, given past experience. Jap beetles prefer yellow and white roses to other colors. I've used lures and milky spores, but nothing is ridding my patch of paradise of the pesky critters.
