Hi, Sally!

When I had the same problem two years ago, I plugged the leak with the same stuff we use in the bathroom: waterproof caulking.  I used the clear product which has worked just fine, and through last year's winter of deep freezes and thaws.  I think it's a lot easier and quicker to use than the cement, although that should work as well.

Be well.

Regards,

Lorraine

My natural rock bird bath (granite?), about 1.5 feet by 2 feet by 6 inches
high, sitting on the ground and covered with beautiful moss in my shady city
garden in Boston has developed a leak. I know which side the leak is on (the wet
side!) but can not pinpoint the exact crack.

Does someone know how to find the source of the leak and how to plug it
safely? I sure miss the birds that used to flock to it.

The bowl was hand carved and is slightly rough.

Thanks in advance.
