Hello:

Years ago I remember a Hosta growing at Old Westbury Gardens (where I used to work) growing along the Lilac walk called Hosta plantaginea.  Very, very fragrant -- it s was an absolute delight.  Perhaps this could be it?

[gwl-g] Re: hosta question

There is what I think is an old fashioned hosta (back then we called them Funkia) that has somewhat narrow green foliage, grows to about 12 inches and has a white to slightly lavender flower that blooms in late August into September (in New York).  I've checked a few hosta books and all of the nurseries but they only carry the newer varieties.  Does anyone know what this variety is?  I'd much rather buy it than porpagate it from other gardens...but I may have to.  I have a picture on file if that would help.  Please...no cross references...if you think you know the name that's what I'm looking for.  Thanks.
