Title: Re: [gwl-g] existing landscape If you aren't in a huge hurry, you might look up http://www.fungiperfecti.com and see the mushrooms they sell that will digest the stumps. Takes one to two years to reduce the stump to punk, but you get edible or medicinal mushrooms (more than one kind work) in the process.

My husband and I have renovated a couple of landscapes. It's huge amount of work but the 'after' has been very rewarding. My advice: Hire some brawny young muscles to help you out if you can, or a someone to operate a Bobcat machine if you need to go that far. For all those stumps, there is a machine you can rent called a stump grinder, which is easier than digging them out.
