Mark's story of Jesus taming the furious squall at sea (Mark 4:35-39) seems
to have been taken from Jonah, Isaiah, Psalm, and Proverbs. This is
described in the article, "Jesus Stills the Storm" at
http://sol.sci.uop.edu/~jfalward/Jesus_Stills_Storm.htm
There is one element in Mark's story I can't account for; perhaps list
members might be able to help. Why does Mark tell us that "other boats are
with him" (Mark 4:36)?
