Thanks, I may even try setting up an Ubuntu box and seeing if I can get it
to work using your method. As for OS X, I do not think it is a problem with
the FreeTDS conf file, as PHP/Apache are definitely finding the freetds.conf
file and choosing the correct server config. Its just that the SQL server is
refusing the connection for some reason ("Unexpected EOF from the server").
I even see the SQL event in the Windows event log showing the denial.
Okay okay, so I got PHP on IIS to connect to SQL, but, well, you know...

Thank you for the blog link, very informative. If it weren't for people like
you documenting your experiences, we would all be at a loss.
