Version 5.0 is a much better choice, though.

I've never done this, so I can't offer first-hand advice. I would like to
believe that just adding the FreeTDS driver as a DSN in the control panel
would be enough these days. I guess not?

I remembered Frediano offered advice on this topic from time to time.
