James,
Thank you for the reply. It clarifies many things...
I took a closer look at the help provided with my copy of
SQL Anywhere 5.5. It supports 2 SQL: Watcom-SQL and Transact-SQL.

Watcom-SQL support is set by default.
However, if you want to write a Sybase Server portable DB, you should
use a Transact-SQL dialect.

Problem is, the Watcom-SQL does not support named constraints, and
Transact-SQL
does, and it looks like there is no way to find out, whether the DB
is set to use the one or another. However, it is possible, that if
I set the DB to use Transact-SQL dialect, than the code might as well
return: "I'm using the Sybase Server".

I'm just guessing here, but maybe I'm right?

Also, is Sybase support the Watcom-SQL standard in the latest SQL Anywhere
releases?

Thank you.
