For freddy77--
Unfortunately, I don't have a SQL 2005 DB out in a DMZ. I'll have to check with some of my colleagues. Are there any changes you would like me to try in the source?
Regards,
Brent

Stefan,
I have the same problem trying to access a SQL Server 2005
from Oracle. I have FreeTDS working on a Solaris 9 / Oracle
9.2.0.7 (well, at least, the unixODBC and FreeTDS stuff maybe).
The tsql connection works great--
dal3argus:oragpd 1% tsql -H dal4tbw -p 1433 -U 'acct02\eckhout'
locale is "C"
locale charset is "646"
Password:
1> select count(*) from sysobjects
2> go
1836
1>
However, configuring Oracle hsodbc and the appropriate Net8
settings, I don't get the same results in sqlplus--
dal3argus:oragpd 2% sqlplus sapread
SQL*Plus: Release 9.2.0.7.0 - Production on Tue Mar 21 00:43:33 2006

SQL> select count(*) from sysobjects@hsodbc;
select count(*) from sysobjects@hsodbc
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

I may have to qualify the table name with a MS schema or
database name (still learning the syntax for SS). However,
the second part of the error message is pointing to something
else besides my lack of understanding on the proper syntax.
Any help would be appreciated,
Brent
I think I understood the problem however I'm unable to test it (I don't
have a mssql 2005 machine and I'm unable to install an Express version
even on my machine). Someone can give me an account to test with ?
