I did use the --with-unixodbc option but it did not build the file. I am
looking through to see what went wrong - any shortcuts to get this file
built?
Freddy77 suggested using
rpmbuild -ta freetds-0.63.tar.gz
But this does not work on the version of RedHat I'm using - as always
any help is appreciated.
Thks!

The ODBC driver is built if a) the DM is detected or b) the ODBC header
file location is specified with a configure option (e.g.
--with-unixodbc). You can check if it was built:
$ tsql -C | grep -i odbc
iODBC: no
unixodbc: yes
If not built, no libtdsodbc.so is produced.
