The TDSDUMP log has included version information at the top since 9 Dec
2002, a little after 0.60 was released. UTF-8 support and generalized
charset handling was introduced in 0.62. So, your log should indicate the
version.
Since you're running in a web server, it might be that your TDSDUMP log is
getting overwritten with each new connection. You want "dump file append
= yes" in freetds.conf.
