ldd is not an AIX thing. Although there's a freeware package out on
Bull's site with it. Anyway, I am able to reproduce this on my 5.1
box, so I'll have a detailed look in the morning and try to resolve
it. Right now it is time to go home. However, a quick look gives:

ls ../tds/.libs/libtds*
../tds/.libs/libtds.a ../tds/.libs/libtds.so.3
../tds/.libs/libtds.exp ../tds/.libs/libtds_objects.a
../tds/.libs/libtds.la ../tds/.libs/libtds_objects.la
../tds/.libs/libtds.lai
