I think you are using TDS version 4.2. Use 7.0 or 8.0 and you'll be able to
select ntext columns.

We should add this to the FAQ. Wouldn't it be nice if Microsoft's error
message said something about the TDS version instead of their product
version?

I'd be interested to hear, btw, how well sqsh works with Unicode data with
last night's snapshot (or later). I haven't gotten around to testing it
yet. Pretty soon, I hope to see sqsh working with UTF-8 clients.
