I've just installed freetds(0.60) on redhat 7.1, accessing sql2k on win2k
server.
tsql works fine (selecting, inserting + updating), but am having little
luck with freebcp. I want to use freebcp because of the amount of data to be
loaded.
Loading data into a table where columns are defined as char, and using the
-c option using tabs and nls as delims works.
I'm having no luck loading data where more complex than char type data (ie:
decimal or numeric) in the definition. I assume the -f option on freebcp
should be used in this case (in conjunction with a format file). I've
exported a format from sql2k and brought it onto the linux box.

When trying do do a data load with the -f I get the message:
DB-LIBRARY error: Unrecognized datatype found in format-file.

I've dinked with the format file, the data and syntax of the freebcp options
but no luck.
Defined is 3 columns of data, each char,10. I wanted to get this rolling then
build something more complex in the definition. ie: walk b4 the run.
My format definition is this:
8.0
3
1 SQLCHAR 0 10 "~" 1 id SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
2 SQLCHAR 0 10 "~" 2 fld1 SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
3 SQLCHAR 0 10 "~" 3 fld2 SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS

What are my false assumptions and/or what am I doing wrong?
Thanx-
