Not that I should butt in but JDBC Drivers are readily available for most every database. Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, even a JDBC to ODBC bridge on MS Windows platforms. With the JDBC to ODBC bridge you can connect to Lotus Approach of all things.
You should be able to download a driver from the database manufacturers product web site.
If you are having troubles connecting to a Database with Java let me know. I am sure I can provide a quick example.
