This what I mean:

LowdenJK@ntc5003$./configure --with-frediano --with-iconv-error
creating cache ./config.cache
checking for Cygwin environment... no
checking for mingw32 environment... no
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking whether gmake sets ${MAKE}... yes
checking for working aclocal... found
checking for working autoconf... found
....
creating src/server/Makefile
creating src/pool/Makefile
creating src/odbc/Makefile
creating src/odbc/unittests/Makefile
creating src/apps/Makefile
creating freetds.spec
creating include/config.h

No complaints. ./configure --with-frenchfries-and-mustard would be OK.

There should be something in configure to say, "Hey, what kind of parameter
are sending me, mister?" (polite form). About half the time, not being very
bright, I fail to pull in iconv.
