As freddy mentions there is a 0.60pre1 release that i've been using on
production systems with no problems. There are a handful of patches
waiting to go in and some work left to do on a couple patches in
particular (reentrancy for one).
After that, we'll probably put out a 0.60pre2 release, then get all the
documentation in order, apply any purely bug fix patches that result from
that and get the documentation together. From there we will do release
candidates until we get it right ;-)
Six months is probably typical of our schedule between major releases. I
think the difference this time has been we haven't done as many -pre
releases between, which we usually sneak in about every two months.
Jim is handling a lot more of this stuff these days as my time comes in
short bursts now and will probably disappear entirely for a while after my
daughter is born in September.
