wow....this is weird.
so i recompiled tds (using
ftp://freetds.internetcds.com/pub/freetds/freetds.snapshot.tgz) into a
different dir, then recompiled php to include tds (in the new dir), and
here is what happens.
if i try to connect to baer-test, it works fine. doing a netstat tells
me this:
tcp 0 0 ns1:49971 10.0.0.24:ms-sql-s ESTABLISHED
which should be good...right?
anyway,
I change the ip of baer-test in interfaces to be 10.0.0.22 (our test
database server -- development linux box can hit it just fine using
freetds .51 or .52)
I stop http
do a netstat (wait till all of the 10.0.0.24 connections die)
tcp 0 0 ns1:49963 10.0.0.24:ms-sql-s TIME_WAIT
they die
start http
go to site
view data that only
netstat
tcp 0 0 ns1:49971 10.0.0.24:ms-sql-s ESTABLISHED
my mssq_pconnect is calling the interface called baer-test! when i
change it to another interface, i get a page cannot be displayed error.
Ideas?
Ryan

Well, it definately should not be caching. Please try a recent
CVS
snapshot as there were some bugs in the interfaces file stuff
with 0.52.
For those interested, some of the code was moved and
getservbyname() was
unitentially called before all the values from gethostbyname()
were copied
off, and since the socket stuff uses a static are to return
these values,
it worked on some machine and not others...
