Hello FreeTDS guys,

I have seen that the default for the logfile location of freetds is
/tmp/freetds.log.<ProcessID>

I also have seen that these logs contain passwords for the Sybase
access and are readable for each user.

I tried to move the logfiles to /var/log/freetds to hide the logs
I used "export TDSDUMP=/var/log/freetds/" but I had no success.

Does anybody of you know a possibility to move the logs to another dir
and/or make them unreadable for world via an env variable or similiar.

Is it possible to change the source that this feature is avail in one
of the next releases?

I use freetds as the base for the PHP4 Sybase module. PHP4 runs as an
Apache Module. As you can see, my problem are parallel connections
(permanent connections) of multiple users. If
TDSDUMP=/var/log/freetds/freetds.log, freetds doesn append to the file:
it overwrites it, if the PID is different.

FYI, I'm on Debian Linux/86.

Thanks for yor help.
Regards, Guenter
