- Subject: freetds 7.0 or 4.2?

I'm trying to get real unicode support and long chars for sql 7.0.
I need to read a "memo" from an mssql 7.0.
Installed with freetds=7.0 and got long chars (up to 8000) by reading the
memo using "cast".
No real unicode support though as the russion blokes have already
mentioned.
Recompiled freetds with freetds=4.2 and got the unicode support but can't
read the memo now.
Any ideas on how to get both of them?
Is there a patch on freetds=7.0 to get the unicode suport?
Thanks,
Spyros
