MSSQL-7.0 has the above known bugs when communicating with
big-endian machines. (I assume your Solaris machine is a Sparc.)
We are hoping to have at least a work around in the next release,
but swapping bytes is the correct thing to do.
(Perhaps we should add this information to the FAQ?)
