If you're a farmer, homesteader, land steward, food systems worker, food justice activist, or organizer, Groundswell Center for Local Food & Farming invites you to share your story, efforts and initiatives through our Farming for Justice (FFJ) webinarsWe welcome everybody, though we prioritize BIPOC and LGTBQ+ voices in our presenters.

FFJ webinars are free and open to everybody to attend. FFJ webinars are engaging, monthly conversations on topics of justice, health, equity, farming and agriculture.

When: FFJ meets on the second Wednesday of each month, from 12-1:30pm, although we can vary this slightly if needed to accommodate a presenters' schedule.  We're currently seeking presenters for Nov, Dec of 2020 and all 2021 months.

This 90 minute discussion is hosted and facilitated remotely by Groundswell staff via Zoom.  While the format always varies to match a presenter's style, often a presenter shares slides or a video for a short while, offers a breakout question or two that attendees discuss in small groups via Zoom, and then shares more about their own work or engages in a larger group discussion about the topic of the session. This format is flexible.

Compensation: Presenters receive a $135 honorarium to cover 3 hours of preparation time and the 90 minute FFJ session.

FFJ Topics: We're open to your ideas for topics related to farming and justice! We've also received feedback requesting some of these topics: Equitable land linking and access, restoration of native plants and seed, and traditional growing practices/methods of Black and Indigenous farmers.

Since launching FFJ webinars in 2018, webinar topics have included farmers sharing their approaches to equity, information on land and wealth redistribution and dismantling diet culture in food justice. They typically engage 40-100 attendees per session. View some of the past FFJ recordings on our website.

Interested in presenting? If you or someone you know is interested in presenting a Farming for Justice webinar please reach out! Email Giavanna AT groundswellcenter.org to get more information and share your topics or ideas. This platform prioritizes BIPOC and LGTBQ+ voices.
