Seed Saving Techniques: Harvesting and Drying
Wednesday September 4, 6:30 – 8:30 pm
at Cooperative Extension Education Center, 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca NY
How do you know when your seeds are ready to harvest? What is the best way to dry and store seed to remain viable for multiple years? In this hands-on class we will start by collecting different types of vegetable and flower seeds from the CCE gardens, then learn to clean the seeds using different techniques and tools. Learn why fermentation of tomato seeds is essential for good germination, and different drying and packaging techniques for long-term storage of seeds.  Cost: $5-$10 (self-determined sliding scale).

Please call (607) 272-2292 to sign up, contact Chrys Gardener at CAB69 AT cornell.edu with questions.
