(607) 272-2292. Sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County Master Gardeners. Did you know that Food Stamps can be used to help you start your vegetable garden? USDA regulations allow Food Stamp/SNAP recipients to purchase “seeds and plants that produce food for the household to eat”. This year, the Spring Garden Fair & Plant Sale will accept Food Stamp/SNAP payments for eligible food-producing
plants and seeds, using the familiar system that already is used for accepting these payments at local farmers’ markets. Customers can visit the EBT table located in the courtyard near the school entrance to have their EBT card swiped and receive tokens to
use to pay the plant vendors. |
