Seneca at a Crossroads Forum
being held at the
Watkins Glen High School Auditorium
on Thursday. April 14th
from 7-9pm.
This Forum is being held to inform the public about how out of state Inergy LP plans to store hundreds of millions of gallons of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) in salt caverns right next to and under Seneca Lake. They also plan to store nearly a hundred million gallons of very salty Brine in a 14 acre open pit on the steep slope above the lake.
I think this is the most significant threat to our Finger Lakes today and is directly related to NY State's Marcellus Shale gas and the hydrofracking that they think is imminent. Please plan on attending this event and learn the facts surrounding this project. Please forward this email to everyone you know, share it on Facebook, shout from the hilltops.
As Inergy says on their website, they want the Finger Lakes to be the Gas Storage and Transportation Hub for the North East!! Well, I say we don't want them to turn the land we love into an industrial wasteland!!

If for any reason you can't attend in person, we will be streaming live on the web. Please wait out the short infomercial at the beginning.
