**Politics of Poetry Reading**

Thursday, July 29th,
at Cafe Ooh La Latte, 1116 Broad Street, Durham, NC, phone: 919-286-0650
beginning at 7:00 pm.

The Politics of Poetry- It's an election year and change is in the air. Come together for an evening of both imagining a new future and finding out how to make that future happen. Poets and spoken word artists come together with local political action groups to introduce ways to envision change at the city, regional, and national levels. Featured poets include Andrea Selch, Langston Fuze, Tanya Olson, Dasan Ahanu, Ken Rumble and Amy Nolan. There will also be open mike spots available, first come, first served. Local groups will include representatives from Durham People's Alliance, North Carolina Lambda Youth Network, the Center for Documentary Studies, and others. Thursday, July 29th, Ooh La Latte, 7-10. 1116 Broad Street, Durham, 27705. 286-0650. No cover. Open mike sign-up and scheduled poets begin at 7pm sharp.
