You could also check Alan Segal's Life After Death: A History of the
Afterlife in Western Religion

. It is quite thorough and has some differences with what you find in
Wright.

I would also add: Robert B. Stewart,, ed. The Resurrection of Jesus: John
Dominic Crossan and N.T. Wright in Dialogue (Minneapolis: Fortress Press,
2006) which also touches on this topic.

I am working on a paper which touches on Paul's speech before the
Aeropagus (Acts 17), in particular the response he got when he mentioned the
resurrection (17:31-32). I am finding very little New Testament scholarship
specific to the attitudes, philosophical and popular, on resurrection and
physical immortality in the Greco-Roman world. At present what I have found
is mostly Classical scholarship. Can anyone on this list point me to some
recent New Testament work done on this text? Thanks.
